I was wondering if anyone has ever used a 2 part epoxy paint like you use for a shop floor to pain the hull of a boat?? I know that stuff is tough and is very scratch resistant when it is cured... I have done shop floors and gotten a glassy shine on them with little effort... >> Which can be hazardous in a oil warehouse! But it looked great!!

Here is the look I am going for:

I hope it turns out as nice for real as it looks in my head!! LOL

I've been planning on it for a while... basically I'll use the epoxyshield paint in gray, and I'm going to spread anti-skid on selected areas. Should be really nice and durable, and cost a lot less than sprayed or rolled on bed liner.

Does it cost less than a normal marine grade epoxy? How does it handle hydraulics?

I'd be curious because I paid a ton of money for my bottom paint (Interlux VC Performance). At the time (last year) it was the only 2 part non ablative paint on the market that could withstand submersion for more than 72 hours and resist wear on bunk style trailers.

If there's something I can buy at Home Depot for 1/4 the price I'd happily switch.
