89 chevy 305..... well i got a new carb around april or may and my cable wont work with the link on the carb cuz the link is backwards or the cable is but anys my ? is can i mount the carb anyway i want like the link right now is on the the right side (u facing the front of motor) can i turn the carb around so the link can be on the left side????

?2.... does the carb fuel filter have to be full of gas or can it be half full? also can i buy a fuel pump for a carb or should i just buy the same on thats on there now???

Im not sure I understand are you saying the linkage is on the wrong side of the carb.

The fuel filter should be full wile the eng is running as system should be pressurized.

Can you post some pics of the carb new and old

on my omc motor the throttle link goes forward but my carb link does not go forward it only goes backwards... sorry i dont have my old carb it was a core for the new one.....

Fuel filter does not have to be full of fuel. If you wanted, you could prime your carb with a fuel squirter to fill the fuel bowls and speed things up but as soon as you start cranking the starter it will start pumping gas to the carb. Granted, it might take a second or two to properly prime the carb if its been sitting a while, but there will certainly not be a drastic delay.

Yeah man, were going to need pictures or video. Take another video of the process, like you did with your trailer dilemma. That would help.

If you turn the carb around you may also have to change the direction in which the cable moves.This can be done in the helm control.Your fuel filter will not stay full when the engine is running

Ayuh,... Why didn't you buy a Copy of the carb that was on it,..??

What carb did it have, originally, 'n What carb have ya got now,..??

i will see if i can make a video tomorrow its just that monday night sandy is going to hit MA so the boat is already all covered up... bond-o the marine guy that i got the carb from said that my old carb was a auto carb but the new carb i think its a rochester 2bbl carb...... lol just some pics for now...

What carb did it have, originally, 'n What carb have ya got now,..??

here is a old video but it has my old carb, the one the parts guy said it was a auto carb.... also if u see on the video how the carb link goes backwards??? well on my new carb that link does not go backwords like that carb does so insted of my throttel link going forward i need i to go backwards to match my carb link......
