20 foot pontoon with a 16 foot deck! just finished it up took about 3 weeks. Still want to do some type of graphics or stripes on the railings. have a total of 4800 bucks into it. not including the trailer. the only thing i am not real happy with is the motor.its runs good and pushes the toon nicely but it is alittle loud and it is a 50 hp mercury force. havnt heard a whole lot of good about the force. Maybe next year a 4 stroke honda will fit in the budget. Anyway i had alot of fun redoing it and am looking forward to some great fishing parties. by the way i bought a new trailer bunk style. wheels are actually outside of the pontoons pulls like a dream with chevy venture van, tranny cooler added. here is a before and after pic. more pics @ http://calntisa.com/pontoon.htm
Re: 20 foot pontoon

FSHKPR:
Congratulations. This spring I reconditioned a Weeres Sportsman 20 with a 16' deck. The wood deck was good so carpet, wiring, and furniture were the order of the day. Took me about 8 weeks, but I was only able to work on it weekends and it rained on a couple of them. It turned out good and has been a great source of entertainment for us. Only has a 40hp motor so we don't worry about speeding.
Charles

Re: 20 foot pontoon

fishkpr you did an outstanding looking job on that toon. Even with an engine up grade at a latter date you have 10 or 12 years good use out of it if maintained . then it still will sell prob for about 60 to 70 % of what you got in it.
About the force you are right I have heard some discuss them and some cuss them. I am in the process of looking for me a toon project now.
with that said go forth kpr and enjoy that toon.

:D
