I have a 20 hp Mercury 200 that suddenly has developed a gas problem. Typically I pull once with the choke out, push it back in and pull again and it runs great. I followed the same procedure last time and after running for a few minutes, it stopped. I did the same, but it wouldn't crank, and I smelled a lot of gas. I thought I was flooding it. After a lot of pulling I can get it running by removing the gas line, get it running in gear and reattach the gas line. If I reattach the fuel line before it is in gear it will die immediately. But if I am running full throttle, I can reattach it and it runs fine. <br />This was the same procedure for the entire trip. Removfe fuel line crank after a lot of pulls, put it in gear, reattach the fuel line. I think I have a stuck float in the carb, any thoughts? Thanks.
