When I give it full throttle it bogs and after a little bit it kicks and bogs several times and finally goes like it should. I clean the carb every summer, never had any issues, while it was bogging on the lake I noticed the top cylinder was cold. I pulled the plug and it was wet, not firing. It is a single coil with two spark plug wires. At home i looked inside the spark plug boots, and the top one was rusty on the inside so I changed them from top to bottom. They un-screw from the spark plug wire. This seemed to make the bottom cylinder not fire. The only way i know this, is that the bottom spark plug is wet after running, and the top one seems dry. Has anyone heard of this? Its hard to find any information on a 1979 spirit horse. It is a single carb and a single coil? Two spark plug wires out of it. Am I on the right track or am i missing something else?
Thanks, Mike.
