I just put a 97" 200 efi on my boat and fired it up on the hose, when I shut the motor off the pump continues to run or ran for about 5 minutes, until I pulled the battery cable off. Is this normal or should the pressure regulator cut it off when the pressure builds up.

Re: 200 efi fuel pump

The ECU controls the fuel pump thru a internal driver board, the regulator has nothing to do with pump shutting on/off just fuel pressure on fuel rail.

No. Its should shut off when tha key is turned off. Is it still controlled by tha ecu or has it been bypassed?

When I got the motor, the oil injection has been removed and I am mixing oil and gas, could they have jumpered or removed something to cause this problem?

Re: 200 efi fuel pump

Even if someone was using another source to drive tha pump it should turn off with tha key or a toggle switch. Sounds like it may be something with tha ecu pump driver circuit which seems ta be tha weakest part of tha ecu.....
Tha ecu only controls tha groung for tha pump. Tha hot is controlled by tha ign. switch..........Without seeing and testin', I donno!!!!

Re: 200 efi fuel pump

If the red & red/purple on pump are going into harness on engine its not bypassed. If this is the call Tony Brucato @ Brucatosvs.com and ask if he can fix it, if not Shawn @ CDI or Jeff @ DFI Tech my can fix it. Do not install a used one unless its been checked by one of the above companys. I have sent customers ECU and injectors in to be checked and found ECU to be out of spec's and Tony makes a replacement adjustable unit...
