I'm having problems with my 2006 200 HPDI cutting out while running at higher RPMs. It only cuts out for a split second and then it may not do it for the rest of the trip. Last week I cleaned the VST filter and replaced the medium pressure filter and the two other filters. Took the boat to the dealer and had them check TPS settings. Test ran yesterday and engine is still cutting out. I'm thinking about buying the Yamaha sofware and so I can hook up a laptop and check for codes. The mechanic at the dealer says he sees very few electrical problems. I think I can fix the problem myself but I'm out of ideas right now without the software.

Anyone have this happen before?

I was discussing a similar issue today w/ a Yam mechanic and he suggested checking the battery connections are "pliers tight--not finger tight." Seems odd when it feels like a fuel line issue but he said it's the tempermental electronics. I know, sounds odd but why not check it.

i would run the boat with a fuel pressure gauge,at the vst an see what happens when it cuts out. mite lead you some where, pressure should be 38-44psi but mosty see what it does when it cuts out.
