THE MOTOR HESITATES AND SPITS AND SPUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF.IT SEEMS ONCE IT HAS CLEANED ITSELF OUT IT RUNS LIKE A CHARM.ALSO AT LOW RPMS IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT RUN VERY SMOOTH.IT IS VERY SCARY IN ROUGH CONDITIONS BECAUSE TOU CAN'T GET THE RPMS HIGH ENOUGH TO CLEAN IT OUT SO IT WILL RUN SMOOTH. IT DOESN'T DUE THIS ALL THE TIME. I WOULD SAY 50%.I HAVE HAD IT IN TO TWO DIFFERENT MARINE MECHANICS WITH NO LUCK.THE LAST TIME THE GUY RAN MOTOR ON THE TRAILOR AND ADJUSTED SOMETHING AND SAID IT WAS FINE.I ASKED HIM TO RUN IT IN THE LAKE.WHEN HE DID IT HESITATED AGAIN. SO HE CHANGED A SENSOR AND SAID IT WAS FINE.THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTES.CAN SOMEONE HELP ME. THANX

Greg,
I do not know much about Mercury EFI systems but, maybe the injectors are dirty? Also, check and make sure you are using the correct spark plugs. You may have either a fuel delivery problem or an ignition problem(maybe timing or bad stator?).
If it is loading up as you describe, then make sure your oil injection is working properly or mix the oil ratio carefully 50:1.A slightly hotter sparkplug may help fouling.
Have your mechanic test the stator and clean/replace injectors(if possible). What condition are the sparkplugs in?Are you using a good quality fuel filter? Those injectors have to be clean to operate correctly.
