I recently purchased a 2000 Robalo 2240 boat. Today, I attempted to add the boat to my insurance policy and was told that the serial number did not show up as a Robalo. Apparently the serial number reflects a Wahoo boat. I know that Robalo bought the Wahoo brand but I am getting uneasy with this serial number situation. Can anyone shed any light on this situation? Much appreciated.

Interesting ~~ anxious for the answer if the HIN was imbedded in the gelcoat,,,, anything can happen if it was attached.

Welcome to the confusion of companies being bought and sold..........

What are the first thee letters in your Hull Identification Number that is on the transom of the boat?

The only "relationship" is that Brunswick had a hand in ownership at one time or another between Robalo and Wahoo

First three letters are "WJO". The insurance company finally agreed to add it to my policy. I asked the to document the file just in case I had a claim. I didn't want to have any misunderstanding about the identification of the boat.

I appreciate the responses. SJB
