"2000" 150 Johnson seahorse Warning light

I have a warning light that went off it was the check engine light. I never had any problems other than a interupter switch go bad on the motor 2 years ago.
I have checked compression it is 100 on all but one cylinder it is 95. I replaced the fuel line from the tank it looked in poor condition with cracks on the outside of the fuel line. While replacing the fuel line I noticed a crack in the electrical module on the fuel pump could this be the cause of the alarm ? The symtoms are that it will not run more than idle [6 mph ] even with full throttle. The primer bulb seems to stay semi hard during running , the alarm stays on and sounds for a minute or 2 but light stays lite. I have been reading through the forum but don't see anything about the subject.

Thanks for helping

Is fuel the only thing that will set off this alarm ? Or should I be looking at other things to see what is setting it off .The manual says it is fuel related so thats where I been looking and see no restrictions to the filters which I replaced and the plugs and did a decarb with deep creep seafoam.
Help please

You say that the engine won't run more than 6 mph even at full throttle position. Two items come to mind.First is a fuel delivery issue as in restricted carburetor/s or faulty fuel pump. The other is an overheat condition that is initiating the s.l.o.w. feature which will limit rpms.Just running seafoam in the fuel through the carbs is insufficient at removing any restrictive deposits that may be in the fixed orifices or porting.
You can help narrow down a restricted carb issue by intermittedly pushing in on the key primer and see if engine picks up rpm.Conversely you can help narrow down a failing fuel pump by continually squeezing the fuel primer bulb and see if engine picks up rpms.If neither of these tests reveal any change,I'd focus on an overheat situation or the OMS pump since you mentioned seeing a crack in the housing.

Thanks for the tips to try . I don't think it is over heating I show great water pressure and just had the water pump replaced last fall & the 3 seals as a preventive maintenance. I'm thinking bad fuel pump or carbs but I just had carbs rebuilt 2 seasons ago as preventive too. i did the aerosol sea foam directly into the carbs this weekend and do use OMC 2+4 tuner with every other tank full which is 85 gallon tank on a 2000 Angler boat.
I replaced the water separator filter & spark plugs last weekend also after the decarbing. The old plugs were blackish brown & wet and were gapped at .050 the new plugs were gapped at .030 when installed. I will try the things you mentioned to see if I notice a pick up in RPM's if I do I guess I need to replace the fuel pump. I did notice a small amount of oil coming out from under the cowling cover , clean red oil and have for the past few weeks before the alarm went off.
Thanks Again !
