Ok Guys after pulling my hair out with a No Oil alarm coming on. i need so help before i go broke with parts and labor.

Last summer i had my boat out and after a run to my fishing hole i went to start it back up and it wouldnt stay running unless the bulb was pumped. It would run fine as long as the bulb was pump however the NO oil Alarm would go off and i would shut it down and restart and do the same thing over again. I suspected a VRO pump going bad so i bought a rebuild kit but that wasnt it as the No Oil Alarm still goes off.

I took it to a shop and they cleaned the oil tank, replaced the anti-sphion valve and sent me to the lake with a premix tank and it ran fine the very short distance i ran it with no alarm. I didnt use it anymore thinking it was fixed until this spring when i took it out and had it running to warm up. Now i want to tell you whats going on that i have noticed.

Just to be safe i did a pre mix of 50:1 and then marked my oil tank to see if was actually pumping oil. I ran 1/2 tank of gas out but the oil level in my tank didnt move.. The No Oil Alarm (SOILD ALARM- No BEEP) always without fail comes on at 3.30 seconds once the engine is cranked and runs for about 15 seconds whether idling or on plane and then the alarm shuts off.The boat runs fine with plenty of power...

i have also changed the gas primer bulb and tightened all battery connections. I have a couple of questions. On the VRO is there any electrical componets that could be failing that would give me the Alarm? Again the level in my oil tank has not moved. My question is..shouild it still move when running premix. Ive heard people say you cant have good luck with a rebuild kit and just buy a new one. I dont want to spend another $500 on a pump if it isnt the problem. Any ideas?

The no oil alarm is a beep every second. Overheat warning is a constant beep. There is no rebuild kit for the oil side of the VRO pump. I believe you also have a fuel restriction alarm on that motor.

The oil level in the reservoir should drop as the engine runs with premix. The motor does not know you are running premix, obviously....

Sounds like you need a new OMS pump, or switch to premix permanently.

Then why does the no oil alarm light come on with the buzzer? My motor is peeing great so its not over heating. like i said i ran a 1/2 tank 10 gallons of premix and it ran fine but the buzzer would come on then go off.

Where could i have a fuel restriction as the boat runs fine.
