Re: 2000 200 EFI Bulb won't get hard.
Is there a check valve from the top of the Vapor Separator tank that might be stuck? When I pump the bulb, just as it's getting hard, fuel streams out of a small hole in the side of a brass elbow fitting connected to the fuel rail.
It seems like there shoudl maybe be a check valve to prevent this. Does anyone know for sure and how I might be able to get it un-stuck?
Thanks.
Does anybody have any experience with this?
There is a small hose (maybe a bleed line) coming from a brass elbow on top of the VST and goes up to a brass elbow on the backl side of the fuel rail housing. When squeezing the bulb to firm it up, fuel eventually squirts out of a small hole in the brass elbow at the fuel rail housing. I don't think that it is supposed to do this. I'm sure that there has to be a check valve someplace, I just don't know if it is at the elbow on the VST or at the elbow up on the fuel rail housing.
Electric fuel pump went out and through my troubleshooting I found this problem. I have all necessary parts to change fuel pump and plan to do so this week, but I'd like to get this other issue solved at the same time.
Anybody familiar with this, I could sure use the input. I've already exceeded what I thought were my abilities by determining that the electric fuel pump was out. Helps to have the Service Manual and follow directions. Unfortunately, they do not address this fuel leakage issue or the existance of a check valve.
Thanks.
