I HAVE A GAUGE ON MY DASH FOR TRIM AND TILT BUT THERE ARE NO WIRES GOING TO IT...CAN A SENDING UNIT BE OBTAINED FOR THIS MOTOR AND WHERE WOULD YOU MOUNT IT?
Hey Fastback! Yes you can purchase a trim sender for that motor. The Merc part number is 821400A 2 and it mounts on the starboard side. If I'm not mistaken, there are mounting instructions included with the part. <br /><br />Happpy Boating!
Check the motor first. My 1996 50hp 4 stroke Mariner (Merc) had a sendor when new from the factory. All it needed was wires and a gauge. Maybe yours has the sender already.
