Got a good shot at a 2000 50hp Johnson. It's grey in color and seems very clean. Am going to see her tomorrow after work.
Opinions on this model? It's set up for tiller steer but was originaly sold as remote but converted to tiller when the guy mounted it to his tin duck boat.
Marina owner removed VRO and correctly converted to manual premix ..
Now it's up for sale for $1,600 asking ....
Outside paint seems original .. seems clean . the marina i'm buying this from owns the outboard. The owner himself is selling it and advised the wiring harness for remote comes with boat, no wires were cut, and advised will be happy to run her for me in a tank before i buy ..
The marina is about an hour from me ... luckily i have a good buddy from down there who knows the owner VERY well and offered to say it was for him to get a better price .. and said he would call down to the marina to put in good word for me ..
Were there any problems with this model in 2000 and how well do these hold up ? .. I think i'm going to have to jump on it.. marina owner said a guy from ohio called yesterday askin about it...
