2000 90hp merc. 2 stroke intermitent lose of power

Cruising along just fine at 1/2 throttle and we just loose power for aprox. 5 sec. I pull the throttle to idle then back to 1/2. Every thing runs fine. This seems to happen maybe once or twice an hour. The engine does'nt quit. This spring we replaced fuel line, bulb, added canister type filter. Thought it might be water in the fuel. After last weekends trip I pulled the filter, found no water, but it looks like the are small droplets of motor oil at the bottom of the jar. Any ideas.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Mark

check your spark plugs to ensure they are tight. when installed,if not tightened correctly, they can come loose to less than hand tight causing an occasional lack of compression.good luck
