Re: 2000 90HP Mercury

I'm not positive about this but I was having a similar problem and my dealer indicated that it could be the fuel pump pressure. He said the new fuel pumps put pressure back into the fuel hose and almost close the valve in the bulb. He told me to wrap the bulp ends on the hull when that happens. I have a new engine now and haven't needed to try it but it's worth a shot.

Re: 2000 90HP Mercury

Have you found your problem yet? I have a 1998 125HP merc with the same problem. I cleaned carbs & rebuilt the fuel pump. No Help. Turned it over to local mechanic, he cheked electronics and compression. Mercury reps suggested all new electronics, $450.00 worth of parts. Miss is not as bad but still there. If you find the problem please let me know

I changed plugs and fuel filter...... then I traded for a new boat and motor before I tried it out.
