So I am having an issue with my boat and trying to avoid taking it back to the shop. Last year we didn't get out much due to water in the tank, fuel pump gumming up, and the carb needing rebuilt, it was late in the season, so we put it off. Decided this weekend to pull it out of storage and start working on it. Started with the easy one of pulling all the gas out of the tank, and changing the fuel pump (Mechanical). Rebuilt the carb today, its a Mercarb. Thought all was going to be good, but it still won't turn over. I'm not smelling gas in the carb either, so I am assuming something else is going on. Pump is working, fuel is coming through to the carb, engine will fire when I spray it with starter fluid. Battery is good. What am I missing? Kill switch was replaced as well, possibly wired wrong?

Wrong float setting, reversed/wrong gasket(s) are 2 of the most likely causes

Thanks guys, I will look at it again tomorrow. The heat could have been playing a factor today :mad-new:
