I have a chance to get a 2000 Bayliner Capri 16 ft. w/ (of course) a '99 Force 90 hp. I am guessing it has no more than 25-50 hours on it. Not been used this year yet.
It is almost new, no scratches, chips, ect. in boat or trailer. Pretty much flawless. It's got a bunk trailer.

What do you think? Worth a shot?
Price: $6000.

Thanks for the help!
DMan

Re: 2000 Bayliner Deal???

I'd be a bit hesitant on spending 6 grand on a boat with a less than glorious history (to be nice) - (to verify, enter Bayliner in the red Search at the top of the page and read to your hearts content) and a motor with the same reputation that is no longer made that it is getting tough to find parts for now if it had O hours on it. Forget what NADA or any book says.

Be patient and look around some. Think you can do a lot better for the money especially now that the boating season is pretty much over up north. I would think you should be able to get a late model well made 19-20' with a reliable "known" motor for that money.

sounds to me like a great deal
im a force owner and have had no troubles whatso ever
you have to remember why force got the reputation they did
force motors were put on an affordable boat witch in turn everyone and there dog was able to buy one
well not everyone and there dog can hold a wrench right side up
if you do your maintanance religously youd have no problem
around here that boat would sell for around 15 to 17 thousand
i paid 8500 for my 1989 16.5 maxum with an 85 horse force
same type of deal though baught it from an older guy who didnt use it much
still had the hair on the trailor tires
ive had it 2 years no problems
excellent size boat for fishing skiing and funnin
so i think its a deal
but then thats just my opinion right

one more thing
when you see most posts in here regarding a force outboard the biggest complaint seems to be no water comming from the peehole
the over heat buzzer keep comming on
runs rough
wont idle
wont start
all simple solotuions to simple problems that even a mercury evinrude or johnson could have
that alone tells me someone never did there maintanance

can't you buy a brand new bayliner for under $10K?
I'd spend the extra bucks and not have to worry
about the "force" being with me...plus you will
have a warranty. personaly I wouldn't spend that
much for that set up.
