I'm looking at a 2000 Doral 300 SE and looking for feedback, bewares, etc. prior to moving forward with an offer.
Boat shows well, low hours on dual 5.0 LT with Volvo penta legs. Any advise is helpful and appreciated.

It's a bit hard to make any judgements on a 20 year old boat based on words. Does it show well or is the bad stuff out of sight? Low hours on a boat not old enough to drink isn't always a good thing.
Agreed. If i proceed, i will have a mech insp/water trial and hull check done. wondering if there are any known issues with the year of boat, motor, electrical etc more than anything else.
I looked at a few 97 Doral 270s and they were nice boats. From what I could find Doral were well built respected boats. Well thought out. On older boats, I saw a lot of stress cracks and ulphostery issues. But I agree with GA Boater. Get a good survey. Good luck!
All that maintenance records from a shop show me is that the owner was helpless and couldn't do anything themselves. Of course major stuff should be documented.
