I am a computer person, and so have looked at my 2000 Evinrude 70HP 4-stroke to see if I can read data from it. It is running fine, but I'd like to monitor the unit and also recover hours, etc. eBay has a lot of Evinrude cables/SW deals, but they all show a triangular 3 (or 9) pin connector.
My engine has a circular 8-pin twist lock type connector. I'm guessing that since the 2000 engine is manufactured by Suzuki that I should be looking for a Suzuki cable/software deal.
Has anyone used the Suzuki cable/SW advertised on eBay successfully with an Evinrude badged engine?
