Hello, I have a 2000 Evinrude Ficht 175 that won't fire. I launched the boat today and it turned over once and fired right up as always. I proceded to idle through an idle zone for a good 15 to 20 minutes when all at once the alarm started sounding for probably 5 seconds and the engine shut off and it hasn't fired since.

The engine will crank as normal and it is getting fuel. The oil reservoir is full. I took out a spark plug and it is not getting spark. I assume the computer has it shut down for some reason.

I am on my first day of a week long fishing trip 1150 miles from home so this is a big time bummer. Any help or suggestions you guys can offer is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need someone to read the codes, looks like it will need to go in for service.

The most common causes for the warning light are:
water in fuel filter
low charging voltage
high charging voltage
overheating engine computer
throttle position sensor out of adj.

but being far from home theres only so much you can troubleshoot.

Evinrude tech. looked at the motor and hooked up diagnostics. He says the EMM needs to be sent out and repaired. It's not sending any spark to the cylinders. Any idea how much that costs and/or a good place to send it? Thanks
