Can someone please tell me how much of a gap is suppose to be between the prop and lower unit.. Mine has about 1/2 and I believe my boat is cavitating on the hole shot.. I just replaced the lower unit and I don't remember having this big of a gap before. It looks like the lower unit is threaded on the inside, maybe I'm missing something that is suppose to fill this gap.. I have heard maybe a exhaust seal or a weed guard ???? Appreciate any help..

Not sure. I can't check it because Im currently working offshore.. But my boat didn't act like this until I put on the newer lower unit.. Wondered if they might have given me the wrong lower unit, one that had a larger opening where the prop fits on to it.

Yes same prop.. I thought the rubber went out in the prop but I had that replaced.
