2000 Johnson 250 HP the COVER, Blow-off valve leaking water

hello I need some help my motor is leaking water from the cover of the blow-off valve .I got a new seal and put it in and still leaking water. Do that cover takes a gasket cause in the part manual don't show any. Another thing is does it take silicone or gasket maker. Thank you

Make sure poppet seal is installed correctly and cover is not warped..no sealer or gasket

Can you tell me witch way the seal goes.I don't have a manual for this motor. Thank you for the reply

the seal goes in with the indents facing UP i'm pretty sure. you can always flip it over and try again... wont hurt anything. i will say you need to be careful that its centered properly with the spring.... easy to get it cockeyed.
