2000 Johnson 25hp

I have a 2000 Johnson 25hp on a 16ft. john boat. I thought I was having a problem with my prop slipping but I have tried three props and I am still having the same problem. Is there anything in the lower unit that could cause a slipping problem?<br /><br />I replaced a 1978 Johnson 25hp. on the same 16ft. john boat with the 2000 model. The 1978 model works fine but when I put the 2000 model which sits on it the same way it slips.

Hi Kegg,<br />It sounds like you have it mounted too high,or that you have the trim pin set too high. Either of these would cause it to ventilate,which would sound like the prop was slipping.<br />Hope this helps
