2000 Johnson 50 wirering to Early 90's 70 wireing

Does anyone know if the wireing is the same or maby has the same plugs on a 2000 johnson 50 hp and a early 90's model evinrude 70 hp? I'm wanting to swap my 50 out for the 70 but don't know if the wireing plugs are the same.Did johnson and evinrude ever have different wireing harnesses? Any help very gratefull!!

wiring change in 1996-1997, they have adapters, but they are as expensive and a new wiring harness.
