it starts for like half of a second then it cuts out. Whats up?

have you checked spark, compression, fuel line connections for leaks.. emergency kill switch. does it die when you release the key from the start postion????? are you using the primer. exactly step by step is your starting procedure. is this a new problem.

this is the optical ignition 90hp?

if so make sure there is 12.6 v battery voltage going to your power pack (CDI unit)
