Looking to buy a newer boat. Came upon a 2000 Maxum 1900sr with 51hrs. Has a Merc 5.0L with Thunderbolt V ignition . Was really wanting an fuel injection boat but hearing this is almost the same. Thoughts?
Not sure what you mean by induction. I was looking for something that was electronically fuel injected but I’m reading this Thundrrbolt systems has the same characteristics as EFI but it is carbureted
My two cents - No way a carb is anywhere as precise as fuel injection. Thunderbolt ignition sparks the plugs and doesn't control the induction of fuel into the cylinders.
