2000 MERC 125hp water pump problems

was out this weekend noticed my motor wasnt squirting much water out then it finally quit squirting altogether.could something be clogged dont have any idea where to begin.if pump is bad how do i change?i need help!

Get a manual, drop the lower unit and it will be right there to replace.

Did your motor overheat? If not, it's quite possible that there is an obstruction in the telltale (pretty common). With the motor running (in the water or on muffs) blow compressed air back through the telltale hole. That usually clears the obstruction and you'll have full flow again. If the compressed air doesn't work, try feeding a small flexible wire back through the telltale hole to clear it up. <br />When was the water pump last serviced (impeller replaced, etc.)? Impeller replacement is a matter of routine servicing of an outboard. At a minimum, it should be replaced every other year...more often under certain conditions.<br />Backlash
