I have a new to me motor that floods instantly! As I try to start it, it starts up and idles for about ten seconds, then it floods to the point that fuel is flowing out of the carb into the air intake silencer. If I try to start it immediately afterward, it wont start. Another symptom is that if I squeeze the primer bulb fuel will flood into the carbs, even without the motor running. I have checked that the floats are working by turning the carbs upside down and blowing air into the fuel inlet. Can anyone help??? I'm at a loss.. :( :( :(

Floats are set incorrectly or needle and seat are bad.

mikeneal: you were absolutely correct... Thanks for your help.. :D I took the carbs apart again. This time I paid special attention to the floats, and everything within the float bowl. It turns out that for some reason the needle was not seating entirely. I just re-cleaned it. That was all it needed.. Before I reinstalled the carbs I connected each on to a fuel line and squeezed the priming bulb until it got firm, and made sure that it did not flood the carbs. Runs like a dream now..
