I have a 2000 merc 125 hp elpto. I read on a old post that you can replace the two bottom carbs with top carbs because top carbs have idle jets. This will supposedly eleminate that bogging down feeling while waiting for the bottom carbs to kick in and help the engine idle better. Anybody have any experience doing this? If this can be done what about timing linkage etc? Its great running when all 4 are kicked in but it idles like you know what. When I first took the boat out last spring (It was new to me then) I Thought there was something wrong with the engine. The mechanic explained how it worked so I just figured i'd have to live with it. Any help on this subject would be appreciated
