I have a Mercury 40 HP ELPTO 2 cycle with oil injection. I was running the engine and was pulling it back into neutral and cutting the key off when the alarm starting going off under the dash (steady tone). I checked the temp sensor first and it is working properly. When I unplugged the oil level sensor the alarm stopped. I got a new sensor and installed it, but the alarm is still sounding. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I found the problem by reading some of the other posts. It was the oil tank float. I took the tank off and turned it upside down with the wires attached and the alarm stopped. As soon as I would turn it back upright the alarm would start again. Thanks to those on this forum for the help.
