Please advise
My 2000 Mercury 9.9 4 stroke keeps dropping a cylinder. At any speed, idle or above it will run then drop. Does not matter, cold or hot it will miss and lose power, then it will run fine then it will do it again. I have an extensive mechanical backround. Carb is clean and rebuilt, fuel is clean and no air leaks. Plugs look great. It is definately ignition but I want to be sure its the cdi and not the coil. This motor always had a small intermitent miss in it even when new but now its getting worse by the day to the point of almost not getting down the lake. Has anyone experienced this with this motor?
