Picked up a very damaged sylvan for $400 on craigslist yesterday. The owner was involved in a collision as you will see in the picks. The first pic is of the boat before the accident. I haven't taken any pics of my own yet. Will do within the next few days so you can get a better idea of what I am dealing with, and the boat porn you deserve. I have fixed worse off aluminum's in the past so I am very confident that all will go as planned. I plan to cut 2'' around the damaged spots and put a large piece around the outside and 2 pieces a couple of inches bigger than the damaged spots on the inside. I have used pop rivets before and find they come apart over time. Instead of going the solid rivet way I will stick with what I know. Small round headed bolts (ss) backed by nylon washers and a nut is what I will use so the two metals don't react to each other. The patches will be gooped with 3m 5200 both sides. I have also been to an aluminum company that has the channel and other bent aluminum that matches the bumper material and other parts damaged by the crash. What can't be fixed will be fabricated.
Here's the pics hope it works.

The third picture shows the hole and right next to it the spagetti looking thing is a tear. All damage is above the waterline or borderline. the accident took place a mile from shore and they were towed back to safety in 1-2ft waves. no water entered the boat. (Or so he says hmmmm) Regardless this is something I am dedicated to and will post progress pictures as I go.
By the way I am a new member this is my first post. I have been creeping this site like a tom for years. The material found here has helped me fixed countless problems with my motors. Thanks you all and it is a pleasure to be here. T.J.
