Sounds like my lower unit is going out and started looking for lower units. They are very hard to find can someone tell me what all makes and models will fit. Or if someone has one available thanks
What are the symptoms? Most problems can be fixed inexpensively, unless the gears are chewed, or the case is cracked. New LUs are available (would need to know L or UL), but cost about $1660.
The only symptom is a knock in the lower unit I ran it 50 miles after the noise started I drained oil had a little metal sparkles in oil probably as much as normal wear and tear. I filled it back up and ran it on muffs with no noise in and out of gear so today I’m going to run it in water with a load to see
