Hello, today my bay boat with ref motor started have problems. It would not stay running nor would power up for more than 15-20 seconds. I cleared the clear fuel bottle on the side (had some water in it). and refilled it by pumping the bulb. The clear line coming from the top of the power head has some bubbles in it? I saw a blog or two about that. Any ideas?

thank goodness for the great white trolling motor- it pulled my 24 footer with 8 people for over 3 miles in 2 hours against the wind back to the boat ramp.

I am a retired Marine, not a plumber, electrician, nor mechanic, as my wife says "food good fire bad"- so please keep it simple. Thank you for any insight. JHG (bummed).

post some pictures the only clear line I can think of would be a water pressure guage line.
most likly you have water or debris in the VST.

Thanks RODBOLT, a little more intel on this problem. Today I hooked up to the hose, ran the motor without the cowling (sp) so I could eye the clear fuel/water separator. I call it that because it is clear with a red disc that should stay on top of the water but below the fuel. There is also a fuel paper type filter on a plastic gizmo in that filter separator system. The fuel would bounce from full to just below the filter portion that would allow it to feed the engine. I think it is getting air into the line when the level drops below the paper filter element. Also after some revving to watch the fuel feed- I triggered the alarm, and the oil indicator is flashing about the icon. plenty of pee water coming from the impeller. Any thoughts? Thanks for everyone's help. James

This just happened to me on my 2000 ox66 250. I drew in water from my starboard tank into the VST. Removed the drain plug and let it all drain, emptied the on engine filter, 1/2 full of water and crap. I had to turn the motor over for a few seconds and push the schrader valve going into the intake to purge the crap out of the line. I did this 3 times, fired up and ran like crap for a few minutes but after 15 minutes of 8mph I finally could open it up and make it the other 18 miles back in.

if you have an oil alarm it means the engine tank is low.
was it one bar flashing or all three oil bars ?
