I just finished rebuilding a '01 XR6 which had light fire damage.
I have all the hoses connected (fuel, bleed, oil) but there are 2 sets of small hoses I don't know where they belong.

1 hose is on right bottom carb, and starts from top carb, tee to middle, tee to bottom, then ????
It is the one set closest to airbox (not the larger set near reed plate).

2nd set is a valve on right head, it is dual ported, and it has a 2ft long hose going ? and other port is open ?

Is there anybody willing to enlighten me on this ?

Thanks

I already tried Mercury Parts Express diagrams, they show the hose, but doesn't say where to go....
I have the Clymer but it's different for newer motors.

Valv
the fwd lower nipple on the top carb fuel bowl goes to the fuel primer solinoid.
the three that are at the top fwd part of the carbs close to the airbox route to the plastic thermal valve located on the stbd cyl head. the other nipple on the thermal valve is open to atmosphere. the middle and bottom carbs have the fuel primer line aft about the center of the carbs.the thermal valve hose goes on the nipple farthest from the thermal valve body.

A-ha, I knew the 2 had to be connected together somehow.
I wasn't sure about it, I have a 1991 175 carb here, but it's different.
I guess the ported valve lets cold air into carb sometimes for some reason.

Thanks again........ :D

hello
the thermalvalve restricts idle air when cold to aid in warm up. after about 100*F its open and carb circuits are normal.
