2001 25hp won't idle trouble starting

The carb is not getting fuel to start or idle. Once started by feeding fuel into the carb I can get it to run, but will die at low rpms. Seems to run well at higher rpms.

I have taken the carb off, disassmebled and cleaned twice with little luck.

The problem started when the inside of the fuel line leading to the motor desintigrated pushing a great deal of trash into the inline filter and I thought carb.

My understanding of the carb, motor etc is limited but I would like to try and learn how to fix this.

You simply have missed the dirt when cleaning it, pay special attention to the low speed pickup tube and the area above the carbs. throat

What is the best way to clean it? I have been using spray carb cleaner. Where is the low speed pickup tube and carb's throat? On the top of the carb is a sloted pin. Do you know how many turns out that should be? I've screwed it in and out but never thought to remember where is was set originally. Where is the best site to get parts and to see assembly drawings?

I just took the top off of the carb to check to see if I could see any trash in it. Does not appear to have anything or fuel/oil residue. How does fuel get to this part of the carb? I thought maybe the primer on the side would force fuel in there but it doesn't. Tomorrow I'll take the carb off again and give it another cleaning. Any particular cleaner I should use?

I took off the top of the carb and cleaned the low speed pickup area. Didn't seem to change things. I bought some sea foam and injected it into the carb and let is sit a couple of times. Still not starting without throttle and will not idle. I tightened all the hose clamps in case air was getting into the line. There is a fuel filter before the carb that I have changed twice. Could it be anything else or do you still think I am missing something when I clean?
