looking for a bit of help regarding an annoying misfire I have with my outboard. It starts perfectly when cold or hot, it revs up to 2000 rpm with no problems but as soon as I go above 2000rpm it starts to misfire (sounds sometimes as low as 2 cylinders). When I take the revs above 3000rpm the misfire stops and she pulls like a train and purrs beautifally all the way to WOT at 5800rpm. What beats me is it starts at exactly 2000 and stops at 3000rpm. Any ideas?
My local Merc dealer has not been so good with the advice and being a 5 hour drive away, I would rather make it my last resort to drive it to them if it is just a simple fix.
