2001 F25TLRZ 25hp Yami idles rough

Will B12 ChemTool harm the plastic U-shaped air funnel? Can I just pull out that breather hose and spray ChemTool in there at fast idle or are there downstream plastic and rubber parts the B12 ChemTool would harm? It has a 6 gallon tank am I better off with a gas treatment? any recommendations on a gas treatment? I had bad luck in previous years with STP.

The engine got a new carb in 2008 from the dealer it never ran like new that is smooth at slow idle 950 smooth at fast idle 3200. Today it runs rough at slow idle and dies if left on slow long enough and the fast idle is 2000-2200 and I can smell unburnt gas out the exhaust like it is running rich. I ran it monthly this winter and put fresh gas in it.

It also got a 10 micron water separating fuel filter in 2008. I keep it in dry storage so it is not convenient to disconnect the fuel from the engine and run it dry, I would have to stop at the wash station to reconnect the flush water. Thank you.

Why do you want to spray chemicals into the motor running at half throttle or any other time? It will not clean the carbs.

Fast idle is not around or over half of the rated RPM.

If you have a problem with the carbs, clean them.

if it is dumping too much fuel check your fuel pumps

If the plugs are not firing then chase electrical problems

The fast idle I was refrencing at 3200 was with the remote idle lever fully up; I was not referecing fast idle with respect to the enrichment system energizing the choke. I went back and looked at my 2008 service invoice and that problem was due to a fuel leak inside the carb via the enrichment circuit.

I have a new spare carb and a carb rebuild kit to rebuild the old carb after I take it off. I just picked up some Pingfree plus (plus is safe for E10 fuels) and some Seafoam. The motorcycle forums rave about Seafoam and I have read some good reports about Pingfree and Seafoam on this forum too.

I am going to replace the 10 micron fuel filter cartridge, run her good then try some Pingfree plus then if needed I will swap out the carb. The dealer suggested I drain the carb bowl via the brass drain plug in the bottom of the bowl catching the fuel since it is inconveinent to run the engine dry that's a good idea I will get a dedicated wrench and make a bib to catch the fuel out of an oil bottle cut lengthwise to make that a quick simple job when I put the boat away.

I replaced the external 10 micron water separting fuel filter, inline filter under the cowling, added 1-1/2T Yami RingFree to 6 gallon tank also changed the oil and filter. I like my new end cap filter wrench those are great and I torqued it on to spec 155 in-lbs. My 25hp Yami idels smooth and the fast idel with the remote idel lever up is again 3200 rpm without me adjusting any idel screws. This morning I will be going out to check my crawdad traps to see if any of those little CA Delta mudbugs came out last night. Yesterday the water temp was 66F so they should be comming out of hibernation soon
