2001 FICHT 175 won't start

My engine died today heading out to fish. Changed plugs, 2 water filters, checked fuel delivery OK. Brought it home and used software to look for codes but none were stored or active. What else is there to do? Is the computer bad? Will the software still talk to the EMM if it is bad?<br /><br />Thanks for the help.....dealer is a month behind............

After 6 hours of messing with the motor I have found the I do not have any spark at all. Tried to run the cylinder spark test using the FICHT diagnostic software and I get no spark on any cylinder. Run the same program on my port engine and can visible see spark and hear test performing. Does this mean my EMM is bad or could it be something else less expensive. How do I get another EMM if that is the problem?<br />Thanks for the help

Usually the EMM will store error codes 81 thru 86 if the ignition electronics fail. Sometimes there are no codes.<br /><br />If you hear the electric fuel pump fire up when you first turn the key ON, but don't have spark, most of the time it is an EMM failure. Don't forget to troubleshoot the "stop circuit" to make sure you are not fooling yourself.<br /><br />BRP has factory rebuilt or brand new EMM's for sale, or you can contact dfitechnologies.com for their repair services.

Thanks Seahorse!! No codes were stored or active. I do hear the fuel pump priming at key "on". Boat has twins and both are wired to the same "stop circuit". I even switched the key circuits so that the port would start with the starboard key and stop circuit but that did not work either. I have the diagnostic software needed to replace the EMM....just need to find one. Anything special I need to aware of while changing the EMM?<br />Thanks

Just looked at the DFI technologies webpage. They seem very promising. Has anyone used their services? Prices seem very reasonable.

Pulled both computers off the motors today. Installed the "good" port engine computer on the starboard engine and ran the computer diagnostic software cylinder firing test and I get spark. So, the good new and the bad news is that it is the EMM. Am going to take it to DFI technologies tomorrow. I'll let you know the outcome.
