2001 Ficht Ram E75FPLSIF S/N G04936169. Original EMM is 586518 but suffered the dreaded series of 8's codes before I purchased the motor for cheap. I live in a very rural area of Eastern Canada and support is minimal. Called local dealer and BRP and both told me the BRP replacement for this EMM is 586724. I've purchased a 586724 from ebay but it's from a 2001 150 so the maps are for that engine configuration and not the 60 degree v4. I called DFI and before sending both EMM's to them for remapping and data transfer I'd like to fire up EVdiag and check the replacement EMM for codes and look at the EMM temperature history. Shipping is very expensive from here so I want to avoid sending DFI a dud and I only have 14 days to return the ebay replacement if it's faulty.
Question: Is it safe to install the 586724 (Mapped for 2001 150) on my 2001 V4 and power it up so I can run EVdiag and check codes and history? Obviously I won't try to start it, just power it up. I don't want to blow up the replacement EMM or damage any engine sensors or components.

Thanks in advance.
