I am looking at buying a 2001 Four Winns 170 Horizon LE and am wondering if anyone knows if this has any wood in the transom (or even wood stringers) that I should be concerned about. The floor (deck) is all fiberglass, and the guy selling it says it's all fiberglass, but I wanted to make sure before I bought something that might have a big transom repair bill in its future. Any help would be appreciated.

i doubt that the floor is all fibreglass.
you are looking at a liner....under the liner is the wood.

the easiest way to check for a bad boat is to weigh it against manufacturers specs......100 lbs over is 12 gallons of water intrusion.
another way to find out is to drill core samples of the transom.

the larsons vec hulls were the first fully composite boats that i am aware of.
