Working on a Speedo issue. I have water coming from the outdrive through a 1/4 black tube but i am unclear where this connects too. I have just bought the boat and I am trying to get the speedo working. At first I thought it might just be the hole in the outdrive but its clearly not the issue. I know there is a paddle wheel sensor but I cant seem to find it anywhere and too be honest I am very unclear where to look even for this unit. The speedo is a electrical style and i am feeling the unit is not getting a signal at this time.

Any advise would be great.

First, you need to determine how your speedometer is driven, either by air pressure through that tube or by a signal from the paddle wheel. What connections are on the back of the speedometer? It should be very obvious which type of system it uses.
