There was a problem with some of the starters, not ingageing the flywheel, power pack,timing sensor, and trash in carbuators that would cause float to stick. This was when OMC was going down the drain. Some of the replacement packs now come with a new sensor. I dont have much contact with a dealer now, so dont know what the outcome was on the starter, I think a QC problem, the ones I worked did not have enough torque to push the pinion gear up into the starter ringgear. All of the starters were not bad.
