I have a Larson 233 escape deck boat with a new Volvo penta 5.7l gsi pefs Motor and a Volvo sx-m outdrive....
The whole boats upholstery is shot to hell and needs to be redone, as the hull also has severallll stress cracks and a hole by where a ski mount use to be..... the boat runs great.
however 2 years ago I bought a Larson 210 lxi with a cracked motor to do an outdrive swap with since mine was bad from water intrusion locking up drive shaft.
the 210 lxi upholstery needs redone but would be much cheaper due to being less materialand is still USABLE in current state. the hull is in immaculate condition. Zero stress cracks.
basically I’m thinking of doing a power plant swap onto the 210 lxi. And just junk the old boat.
I’ve never removed a motor from a inboard outboard, any tips or things I should look out for? Also think the swap is a good idea?
