i purchased a used 2001 115 mercury saltwater 2stroke. I am noticing a high pitched noise coming from the engine on and off. It sounds like a squeling belt(but not extremely loud) it usually starts a few minuted after i start the engine and comes and goes a whislting type noise. Is this normal is there something i can do to fix it? (B) second, when i drive the boat at idle speed th engine shakes and sputters this is also on and off(i put new spark plugs and nothing changed) when i increase the speed the engine dosen't shake anymore, but the whistling noise can still be heard... (C) last, yesterday i tokk the boat to a restaurant and tried to put the boat in reverse, it would shut off everytime i tried to put it in reverse. I then put it in forward and after 10 seconds the engine shut off. It would not start and the throtle seemed very stiff and difficult to move. i turned the key off, hen back again and sucessfully started the boat and returned home. today it worked in forward and reverse. Is this a serious problem of a fluke. What can i do and what is wrong, Thanks for the help.........
