I was wondering if anyone has heard anything bad about these motors. I know they start off on 2 cyclinders and then other 2 kick in after some many rpms. Is that harder on the motor?

The 115 - 125 2 + 2 motors are durable workhorses.

Finicky just off-idle unless the link and synch is absolutely spot-on, above 1500 you would never know any difference from any other system.

Only the top two carbs have complete idle circuits, the bottom two cyl's do not receive enough fuel to burn until the throttle is opened, they also use an accelerator pump on the bottom two to improve the transition to 4 cyl.

Adjusted correctly most operators would never know the difference.
