I have a (new to me) 2001 Suntracker Party Deck 21 with a 2003 Mercury 125HP outboard. My question is with pulling a tuber. I assumed I could put some sort of ski pylon on this boat (from Tracker) when I bought it but have since found out they (Tracker) do not recommend it because nothing in the rear area will support the pylon. This forced me to attach the rope to one of the rear tie-don loops. THe rope goes into the water when towing the tube and splashes the heck out of my kid's eyes. Thye hate it and I'm wondering what I can do. Will one of those towing harnesses work? Are any of you doing this? ANy of you guys have one of these boats and what do you do about it. The whole idea (to me) behind this type of boat was the space (like a pontoon) but the performance close to a ski boat all wrapped up in a boat that supports fishing also! I would have passed on buying it had I known there was such a basic flaw. My last deck boat was a Lowe and it had a ski pylon right on the back. ANy advise would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen a 'toon at the lake that mounted a removable tripod style pylon(bass boat syle) and it looks like it works great. I would assume that he used a 3/4" seat pin plate on the floor and used some sort of backing plate for the struts. the top of the pylon is about 4" higher than the rail of his rig.Remove and stow when not in use. Just an idea.

Maybe yur tow rope is too long. I used to tow behind a pontoon and hooked the rope to one of the eyes on the potoon. Once we took off the rope never hit the water. The tow rope for a tube is shorter that one for skiing. Just a thought.
