2001 Sizuki 90hp 4 stroke ????

I have the oppertunity to buy a 90hp Suzuki 4 stroke outboard cheap. The owner says it needs a fuel pump. It has 1200hrs on it. I know nothing about suzuki 4 stroke outboards but I hear they are great. How long will the motor last? Is 1200hrs too many? Are fuel pumps a major expense?

I've seen commercial guys who religiously service their equipment with 7000+ hours (according to the computer download). Low pressure pump is cheap and easy;injector/VST pump isn't.
