Technician called to say that while winterizing he found a crack in the upper part of the gimbal housing that requires replacing the housing. He also said 1 prop had 1 bent lobe. Other than that the boat is perfect, he says. Ran fine when I had it out a week ago. Kinda strange... I'm thinking damage from moving the boat to a work rack that was too short???

Any ideas on a part # and approx cost? Tech is quoting $700 in labor.

thanks,
Mark

hello
700 in labor to replace a gimbal housing is very high. more inline with replacing a gimbal ring or maybe a transome assy. what DP drive is this? there are two styles, one looks like the sx and the other the older swedish style.

DP-SM
Engine is an "eff" which indicates a 2000 model, not 2001.

I think the first thing we need to know is which item you are talking about. Many names are used to describe the same part by different people.
Below is a picture, which one is broken.

I'm heading to the boat in the AM. I'll keep you informed.
